DALLAS, TX – January 30, 2018 Care Options for Kids (“COFK”), a Texas-based provider of therapy, has been selected as the preferred provider by Superior HealthPlan covering approximately 167,000 member lives in the Texas Travis service delivery area and Central Medicaid Rural Service Area (MRSA) covering 15% of all Texas counties. COFK will perform speech, physical and occupational therapy in all practice venues for pediatric members aged three years and older as well as adults. COFK will be responsible for all evaluations, treatment and utilization best practices, in coordination with Superior and other therapy network providers. The preferred provider network provides for an alternative reimbursement method from fee-for-service that focuses on a consistent level of quality of care for Superior members, improving overall outcomes and experience while streamlining the process for referring physicians and providers. This preferred provider arrangement will begin March 1, 2018.
COFK has been a network provider for Superior for many years and currently provides a significant portion of their therapy utilization in both service areas. COFK has proven experience with utilization and member outcomes in line with Superior’s preferred arrangement requirements and expectations. Additionally, since 2012 COFK has led independent clinical therapy research with a focus on healthcare outcomes, efficiencies, protocols and predictive modeling. This research has been one of a few selected for presentation to the American Public Health Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Michael J. Reiswig, President and CEO commented, “We are excited to have been selected to fulfill this important role for Superior. We look forward to providing un-compromised care with a goal of serving Superior members. We are committed to the delivery of documented efficient clinical outcomes while exercising clinical research and innovation for the benefit of patients.”
